Adam Stephen Devine, 26 of Warner, passed away as a result of a tragic accident on June 30, 2023. He was born in Manchester, NH on March 19, 1997. He was the son of Stephen “Gregg” Devine and Jeanne Canty.
Adam was raised in Bradford, NH and attended the Kearsarge Regional School District from kindergarten through graduation.
He played for the BNSYS little league, beginning with T-Ball, through Majors, and made the All Stars. He was an extremely talented catcher, known for throwing outs at every base. There were times when he would catch for half a game and pitch the other half.
Adam learned to play golf as a young boy at Duston Country Club. He was gifted, an excellent player, at least when he didn’t swing too fast to try to hit the ball a country mile.
He enjoyed all things outdoors: target shooting, collecting things on hikes with his girlfriend Jordan, nature, animals, spending time with horses, and working on and driving in his 1997 Ford pick-up truck, with that beautiful smile on his face. He loved to sit outside and cook on the grill. He had recently taken to welding as a hobby, creating some unique pieces from scrap metals, automobile parts, and nuts and bolts.
His job history reflected his need for physical activity, his love of the outdoors and thirst for knowledge. In high school, he started working at Duston Country Club and continued there for a few years learning grounds keeping. There, he made so very many loving connections. He worked part time for Gould Well Company, learning well drilling, pump replacements, filter installations, and other tasks. He moved on to Proctor Academy, where he was a snowmaker and groomer in the winter seasons, and grounds keeping and trail maintenance in spring, summer and fall. He worked for Relax & Co. performing a variety of property maintenance tasks, as well as snowplowing in the winter. He spent some time working at J. Schoch & Son Auto Body, expanding his knowledge of the auto mechanical trade, and learning body work and welding. Most recently, he was working for Perkins Landscaping in Sutton performing property maintenance and landscaping and had begun to learn stone masonry.
Adam is survived by his parents and their partners, Jeanne Canty and William “Billy” Gould, and Stephen “Gregg” Devine and Donna Marie George. He is also survived by his girlfriend and love of his life Jordan Caldwell, his paternal grandparents Dennis and Leona Rae Golding, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Adam was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, John “Jack” and Stella Canty.
A Celebration of Adam’s life will be held on Saturday July 8, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duston Country Club, 40 Country Club Road, Hopkinton, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Adam's name to a charity or organization of your choice.
