Alice E. Fleming, 81, of Antrim, died after a brief illness at Concord Hospital on April 14, 2018. Alice was born in Boston, MA on December 17, 1936 the daughter of John Merten and Agnes (Drula) Merten.
She attended Lowell Teachers College and began her teaching career in Billerica, MA. After teaching math there for 17 years, in 1975 she moved to her summer home, Mountain View in Antrim, with her husband and her son where she began substitute teaching at Great Brook School. Within one year, she was offered a full time position as a 6th grade math teacher and enjoyed this career for 21 years until her retirement. In her retirement she enjoyed her pool on the hill, which had been her life-long dream.
Alice is survived by her son Keith Fleming of Antrim, her granddaughter Shianne McQuade of Hillsborough, and many extended family and friends.
A celebration of Alice’s life will be held throughout the day on June 23rd at her home in Antrim.
