Peterborough, NH Rivermead resident, Anne Sharples Frantz, of Peterborough and formerly of Garden City, New York, died peacefully in her room on Sunday, May 31, 2015 with her family present. Anne, born April 25, 1912 in Belmont, MA, was RiverMead's oldest resident at age 103. A descendant of Thomas Morison, one of the founders of Peterborough, NH, she spent every summer of her life except one, in Peterborough. In 1995 she joined the RiverMead Community to realize her lifelong dream of living in Peterborough year-round. A Radcliffe College graduate, Anne became a high school math teacher, and spent many years teaching at the Cathedral School of St. Mary in Garden City, NY. Anne was a life long traveler, mountaineer and skier. She lead the first all women ascent of the Grand Teton in Wyoming. After arriving at RiverMead she continued cross-country skiing well into her 90s. Anne is survived by her son William S. and his wife Peri Frantz of Los Gatos, CA, her two grandsons; Jefferson Ben Frantz of Colorado Springs, CO and Ethan Adam and his wife Cortney Frantz of East Palo Alto, CA, and their son (Anne's great-grandson) Karl Nathaniel Frantz. In addition, countless nieces, nephews and friends will miss this remarkable lady. The family plans to hold a memorial service in August, when they all can gather in Peterborough.
