Barbara Metivier

Greenfield, NH Barbara Metivier, 79, died on September 5, 2015 at Cheshire Medical Center with her loving husband by her side. Barbara was born in Chittenden, VT on July 24, 1936. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Lloyd Hayes and Aurilla (Brousseau) Hayes. Barbara grew up in Manchester and attended schools there. She moved to the Monadnock Region in 1960. She worked at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center for many years. Barbara met Richard "Dick" Metivier while at "Mike's Drug Store" in Peterborough and the two were married on December 25, 1961 at All Saint's Church in Peterborough. Barbara remained a dedicated parishioner of All Saint's Church and was a member of the Welcoming Committee and worked in the Serendipity Shop. Barbara and Dick enjoyed their time together. They loved camping and on their first trip they drove a Volkswagen Bus to their campsite. A few years later they purchased their very first camper, also made by Volkswagen, and continued their camping adventures in Canada, Conway, The Notch and all over Massachusetts and Vermont. In addition to her loving husband of 54 years, Barbara will be missed by many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00 A.M at All Saints Church, 51 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH.
