Ben Owens, 61, passed away on August 10, 2017 following a brief illness. He was born on August 7, 1956 in Ada, OK. Ben was very proud of his Chickasaw Indian Heritage and that legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren. He honorably served in the US Army in Germany and later in the US Navy as a Boatswain Mate Third Class Petty Officer on the USS Constitution. Ben also worked in the fuel industry for many years, starting as a driver, working as an LP gasfitter, and moving up to management. Ben very much loved spending time with his two grandsons, wrestling and sneaking them lots of candy and sweets. He also enjoyed taking care of his lawn. Ben was aware of the needs of the community and would donate turkey dinners with "all the fixin's" to families in need during the holiday season. Ben is survived by his wife, Kathy, their three children, and two grandsons. His son Jonathan Owens of NJ; his daughter Jennifer Willemin, her husband Jamie, and their son Hunter of Haslet, TX; his daughter Lindsey Houde, her husband David, and their son Jonathan of Milford, NH. A sister, Tina Owens and a brother, Toby Owens reside in OK. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Imogene and Benny Owens; his sister Donna, and his brother Jimmy Owens. Ben's family would like to thank the Greenfield Fire and Rescue Team, the Monadnock Community Hospital emergency staff and the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center ICU for their compassion and excellent care during this very difficult time. His services will be private.
