Greenfield, NH Beverly Carbee, 93, of Greenfield, died at her home on June 24, 2016 after a period of failing health. Beverly was born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 18, 1922, the daughter of Harold F. Bacall and Ilma (Stearns) Bacall. As a child she lived in Michigan and Pennsylvania before moving to Melrose, MA. She graduated from Melrose High School. In 1947 she married Sheldon Carbee, the love of her life for sixty-seven years. Beverly ran "Bev's Bakery" for over forty years at Carbee's Corner when Greenfield was a thriving business community. To this day no one has ever matched her famous Anadama bread. Over that time she made countless friends who would drive many miles to Greenfield to shop in the Gift Shop, buy her baked goods and visit. In her last years she was a matriarch to many who came to the Carbee Farm to seek her companionship and advice. Beverly is survived by her children, Scott Carbee and his wife BJ of Francestown; Sherry Anderson and her husband August of Gardner, MA; Hunter Carbee of Greenfield and his partner Marcia Davis. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Justin Carbee, Alison Hobart, Chad Carbee, Elke Anderson, Erik "Ozzie" Anderson and her 5 great grandchildren. Beverly is predeceased by her loving husband, Sheldon Carbee and her brother, Cortland Bacall. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:00AM at Greenvale Cemetery, Forest Road, Greenfield. Pastor Beth Simmons will officiate.
