B. Frances Gerbereux, 90, of Peterborough, NH passed away peacefully at RiverMead Lifecare Community while surrounded by the love of her family, on September 27, 2018. She was born in Middleburg, VA on June 30, 1928, the daughter of Arthur Houchin and Eva (Utterback) Houchin.
Fran (“Frankie”) was a beloved mother, devoted wife and dear friend to many. Raised in CT and later Upstate NY, Fran learned to ride horses at an early age alongside her father, whom she adored. She was educated in CT at Southern CT State University, became a school teacher, physical education teacher and an avid lover of bowling, tennis and bridge. She was a P.E.O. Sister for many years, making many friends and giving back through philanthropy-related activities she loved; most special to her was her involvement in the P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education (“PCE”), where she served as chairperson for many years, helping select candidates and enabling them to continue their education goals. Later in life she picked up the game of golf and as a natural athlete, Fran got a hole-in-one at age 82! Fran and Jerry had many wonderful years together raising their family and later travelling together to many countries and islands. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Frances is survived by: Sons, David and Mark Gerbereux and their wives, Dee and Gerry, a daughter, Janet Ogden and her husband Scott, grandchildren Andrew and Avery Ogden.
She was predeceased by her husband Jerome W. Gerbereux.
A private interment will take place at the Houchin family plot in Millbrook, NY.
