Brian Daniel Gagnon

September 24, 1965 — December 21, 2024

Laconia

On December 21st, 2024, Brian Daniel Gagnon, a cherished father, brother, son, uncle, and beloved friend mounted his Harley for his final descent to the heavenly gates, after bravely (yet stubbornly) battling a long-term illness for 12 long years.

Brian was born 59 years ago on September 24th in Peterborough, NH, and would continue to be raised on the west side by his parents Daniel and Patricia (Smith) Gagnon. He attended ConVal High School for a couple of years before deciding that he enjoyed the feeling of callous and splinters more than textbooks. Brian was gifted with a God-given talent for detail and would put it to great use for the next 30 years trying to perfect his craft as a Finish Carpenter.

Aside from his passion for woodwork, Brian spent many of his younger years expressing his quiet yet wild spirit with his many devoted friends and family. Despite his brawny appearance and quiet nature, when you met him you would be met with a goofy smile and a clap on the back, whether you met him that day or have known him for years. Brian would fight tooth and nail to make sure the people in his life were happy and healthy even if it meant the sacrifice of his own. All these traits would lead him to be the master of nicknames (Bri, Beege, Bronch, Gags, Moose, etc.)

When he turned 30, he decided to leave the party scene behind and settle down, having three beautiful daughters whom his world revolved around. Brian's daughters were his pride and joy, and nothing made him prouder than being their father. He taught them how to turn grit into grace, how to throw a punch when needed, and more importantly how loyalty and love trump all pain and suffering.

While Brian’s time with us was far too short, his impact was immeasurable. He taught us all the importance of laughter, rising against the storm, and showing love was not a transaction but an action. We take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, riding high in the heavens on his Harley, with no more pain and no more suffering.

In addition to his daughters, Brian leaves behind his older sister Paula, her children/ grandchildren, and numerous friends who will forever remember his goofy yet infectious smile, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help a friend or loved one in need, and his presence will be sorely missed.

He is predeceased by his basset hound Bert (who passed shortly after), his older sister Donna Gagnon, his little brother Mark Gagnon, and his parents, Dan and Patricia Gagnon.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Divine Mercy Parish, 12 Church Street, Peterborough, NH, on Saturday, April 26th, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to his GoFundMe and his favorite charity, Tunnels to Towers Foundation in Brian’s memory, as he would have wanted to continue giving to those in need, even in his absence.

Rest in peace, Brian. You were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
