Greenfield, NH Bruce Neil John Gagnon, 69, of Greenfield died on April 29, 2015 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Lawrence, MA on January 19, 1946, the son of Arthur Gagnon and Eva (Buzzell) Gagnon. Bruce spent his early childhood in Amherst before moving to New Ipswich for three years and eventually settling in Greenfield in 1962. After attending and graduating from Peterborough schools, Bruce served in the United States Navy, stationed on the USS Wasp, for four years during the Vietnam Conflict. Once Bruce returned from military duty he worked for his father for a time before becoming a road agent for the Town of Greenfield for a number of years. In the mid 80s he started his own business, first as Bruce Gagnon and Sons and then BG Trucking, which he owned and operated presently. He loved working with heavy equipment and continued to work right through his recent illness. Bruce found his greatest joy and pride in his kids and grandkids. He loved spending time with all of them and being close to his family and friends was the greatest gift to him. Bruce loved going to the ocean, particularly Ogunquit, ME, where he vacationed every year. Bruce is survived by his children Ellen Gagnon of Hancock, Andrea Langley and her husband Ted of Greenfield, Christopher Gagnon and his partner Stacey of Hancock, Jonathan Gagnon and his partner Jen of Greenfield, Jeremy Gagnon and his partner Leslie of Greenfield, Timothy Gagnon and his wife Kristin of Greenfield, and his step-daughter Meg Dellasanta and her husband Mike of Hancock; ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He will also be missed by Adele Hale, the mother of his children and his brothers Brent Gagnon and his partner Dot of Burlington, VT and Jeffrey Gagnon of Peterborough. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Brian LeBlanc. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Greenfield Meeting House, Forest Road, Greenfield, NH. Reverend Daniel Osgood will officiate. A reception will immediately follow.
