Charles Joseph Greene

Greenfield, NH Charles Joseph Greene, 84, of Greenfield, died at Monadnock CommunityHospital, on May 16, 2014 after a period of failing health. Charles was bornin Marlborough, NH on February 21, 1930, the son of Frank Greene and Ethel(French) Greene. Charles grew up in Marlborough before moving to Hillsborough where he methis loving wife, Floreida. Together the two of them moved to Greenfieldwhere they raised their family. Charles was a member of the Hillsborough Moose Club, The HillsboroughSportsman's Club and was the Assistant Fire Chief for a time on theGreenfield Fire Department. He coached little league, enjoyed hunting,fishing, dancing and working on vehicles of all kinds. He loved visiting andsocializing with the many people he knew. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Floreida (Cate) Greeneand his children, Michael "Greenie" Greene of Greenfield; David Greene ofKS; Nora Greene of Fitzwilliam; and Frank Greene and his wife Linda ofPeterborough. He will also be missed by his brother Raymond Greene of AL,his six grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Tracy, Michelle, Melissa and Beth aswell as his three great- grandchildren. Charles is predeceased by his son Charles Greene Jr, who died in 1978. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 1:00PM at St.Charles Cemetery, Shedd Road, Hillsborough, NH.
