Christina Ferguson, 36, beloved wife of Jonah Ferguson, passed away, on January 10, 2019 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Christina is survived by her husband, Jonah, daughter Elizabeth age 6 and son Noah age 2 all of Temple, as well as her parents, Thomas and Dottie Fagella of Whitingham, VT, her in-laws Mary and Stephen Ferguson of Hollis, NH, her brother Joseph Fagella, his wife Angela and their 4 children of Kentucky and many other extended family members.
Christina was educated in Whitingham, VT schools. She achieved a bachelor’s degree in teaching at Anna Maria College and worked for many years in Vermont, Mass. and NH schools. She was passionate about teaching and was particularly gifted in working with children. Upon her marriage she became a stay at home mom and enjoyed making a comfortable and beautiful home for her family. She was a talented home decorator.
Christina was known for her deep spirituality and gentleness and was a woman of many talents. She had a beautiful singing voice and was active in the choir at St. Patrick’s Church in Milford. Before her marriage she performed in numerous community musicals as a singer and actress and recently with the Temple town theater group.
She was a professional photographer and had her own business “Inspired by Creation Nature Photography”. She enjoyed driving around the Monadnock region in search of beautiful scenery she could then share with others through her photographs.
Christina was cared for lovingly throughout her tragic illness by many people. Besides her courageous husband, parents, and in-laws there was her extraordinary nurse Sue, and Social worker Megan from Home Health and Hospice, her new best friends Amy and Matt Cabana, her aunts Susan Sievers and Bunny Marsdon her neighbors Sue and Ken Quinn and friend Shannon. Father Bill visited almost daily to provide communion and comfort. People from the Town of Temple and St. Patrick’s Church were also incredible in their generosity and without them Christina could not have fought her illness as bravely as she did.
Funeral arrangements have been made by the Jellison Funeral Home in Peterborough, NH. There are no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 34 Amherst St. in Milford, NH on Saturday, February 9th at 12 noon, followed by a luncheon in the church hall. All are invited.
