Daniel H. Firmin, 87, of Troy, NH passed away peacefully on January 26, 2024, at Monadnock Community Hospital. He was born on May 4,1936 in Fitzwilliam, NH the son of Horace and Letitia (Mitchell) Firmin.
In his younger school days, Dan’s transportation to school involved everything from a horse (elementary school) to a train (high school). After high school, to no one’s surprise, he was hard at work. He began in the auto industry, eventually moved on to construction work including clearing the roads from snow in Richmond, NH. His work took him all across NH, VT, and MA. All those who knew or worked alongside of Dan understood that he was a passionate, hard worker.
Dan was also involved in his church, was an avid reader of history, always ready with a quick-witted remark, enjoyed the local dance halls and coffee shops, and never met an auction that should not be attended.
Daniel is survived by his eight children. Elizabeth and her husband, Hamid Daghighian, Geneva, Switzerland; Candace Slobodnik, Maryland; Daniel R. Firmin, Maryland; Cheryl and her husband, Albin Woody, Maryland; Heidi and her husband, David Berger, Washington; Destiny and her husband, Jon Doremus, Georgia; Ruth Ellen and her husband, Daniel Carlton, New Hampshire and Laurel and her husband, Tim Clater, New Hampshire.
