Greenfield and Antrim, NH Crotched Mountain resident, Daniel W. Fluhr died peacefully on Thursday, June 4th surrounded by loving family at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital after a sudden illness. Dan was born July 13, 1986, in Peterborough, NH, the son of William K. Fluhr and Julie (Ferry) Blanchette. He spent his younger years living in Greenfield, NH and attending school in Peterborough. Dan graduated from ConVal in 2007. More recently he has split his time between his residence at Crotched Mountain and his residence with his father in Antrim. Having a great sense of humor, Dan loved music, dancing, theatre and the movies. He liked car racing and going to Bruins games. Dan thought Harley motorcycles were pretty special and he fancied dinner outa€"particularly Harlow's. Dan participated in the Special Olympics for Track and Field, Snowshoeing and Swimming. He took lessons in the therapeutic riding program at the Pony Farm. He enjoyed hiking and riding his bike. He specially liked his weekly visits with his aunt Amy, sister Heidi and cousins at their farm in Bennington. Dan developed many long-lasting relationships with people in the community whether through school, church or the many activities he was involved in. Dan is survived by his father, William K. Fluhr of Antrim, NH, his sister, Heidi Blanchette of Antrim, NH, his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth M. Clooney of Rochester, NH, his maternal grandmother, Faith Lloyd, of Greenfield, NH, his maternal grandfather, Bill Ferry of Antrim, NH, his great aunt and uncle, Mary and Robert Dunkerley of Dallas, TX, his great uncle, Charles Fluhr of Charlestown, MA, his aunts; Linda Fluhr and her partner John French of Greenfield, NH, Lillian Clooney of Eliot, ME, and Amy Hardwick and her husband, David of Bennington, NH, and his uncle Curtis Ferry of Greenfield, NH in addition to several cousins, extended family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his loving mother, Julie Blanchette, who died in 2004 and his paternal grandfather Kenneth W. Fluhr who died in 2007. Dan led a short but very full life and we will miss this remarkable young man. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday June 10, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Greenvale Cemetery, Forest Road, Greenfield. The Reverend Daniel Osgood will officiate.
