Dennis P. McClure

Dennis Peter McClure, 67, of Bennington, NH passed away peacefully on Wed. December 18th, 2024, in his home, after a years long battle with heart disease.

Born in Peterborough, NH on August 25, 1957, the son of Wesley McClure and Pauline (Paige) Gilman, he grew up and lived most of his life in the Bennington area.

Dennis was a lifelong logger and a decorated sportsman who lived for long days of hunting and fishing with his family.

Dennis is predeceased by both of his parents and his stepfather, Larry Gilman. He is survived by his son, Tyler McClure and his wife Karen of Antrim. His grandchildren Addilyn, Deagan and Kennedy. His brothers Tom and Ronald, and sisters Nancy, Susan, Kathy and Lori. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on January 19th, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the American Legion in Hillsboro, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to help fund the Veterans Memorial Fence at Sawyer Memorial Park in honor of Dennis. All donations collected via GoFundMe and a savings account established at Bank of New Hampshire will be donated to the Bennington Recreation Department, specifically to aid in the construction of the fence Dennis passionately advocated for.
