Dolores “Lori” (Velardo) Kundert, 92, passed away peacefully February 8, 2023, with her family by her side at Summerhill Assisted Living in Peterborough, NH.
Lori was born to the late Dominic and Ann (Sancenito) Velardo on July 7, 1930, in Lodi, New Jersey. She grew up and resided in New Jersey for most of her adult life. She was blessed with two sons who she raised in Saddle River, NJ. Lori had an impressive career as a real estate agent in New Jersey during a time when women faced many societal challenges in the professional work setting. She prided herself on her success as an independent and accomplished woman.
Lori enjoyed traveling the world, reading, a good movie, and spending time with family. In her earlier years she also liked to take her chances at winning on the slot machines in Atlantic City. She was a great collector of trinkets and items from her travels. She was also known for her warm hospitality and hosted many family holiday dinners.
Over the last decade Lori left her home in Lakewood, NJ to live with her son, Michael and wife Jean in Rindge, NH. She spent her time in their care and enjoyed the time she had with her family. She loved being a “Gigi” to her 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and playing a good game of cards with them. As her health declined, she moved into Summerhill Assisted Living, Peterborough, NH, for her final year. The family thanks them for their exceptional care. There she enjoyed her weekly Bingo games and her stuffed Dalmatian “Billy” and little pup “Banks” by her side. She looked forward to her frequent visits from her son to beat him at a game of cards and her daughter-in-law checking in on her throughout the day.
Lori is predeceased by her parents Dominic and Ann (Sancenito) Velardo.
She is survived by her children: William and wife Cathy Kundert of Ridgewood, NJ, Michael and wife Jean Kundert of Rindge, NH; her
grandchildren: Sarah and husband Greg Keller of Plymouth, MA, Christopher Kundert of Boston, MA, Erin and husband Robert Romeo of Ridgewood, NJ, Alexander and wife Ashlyn Kundert of Rindge, NH, William Kundert Jr. of Ridgewood, NJ, Keri-Ann Kundert of Ridgewood, NJ, Jake Kundert of Rindge, NH; her great grandchildren: Marley, Casey, and Crosby Keller, Abel, Cal, Knox & Troy Kundert, Austin Romeo; a brother Robert and wife Heishi Velardo, and their sons Tashi and Dorje Mar of NYC. Also, a sister Kathleen Velardo Pavelec, and her son John Pavelec of Asbury Park, NJ and many friends.
A private celebration of life will be held this summer.

Lori will be forever missed and carried in all our hearts.
When I am no longer here
And you are looking for me,
Look into your heart.
For if I should have found place there,
Then I will live in you forever.
