Peterborough, NH Edward R. Hampson, 88, of Peterborough, died surrounded by the love of his family, on March 17, 2016, at Summerhill Assisted Living. Edward was born in Cambridge, MA, on September 25, 1927, the son of Nishan Hampson and Prapeon (Nakashian) Hampson. Edward's childhood and youth were spent in Watertown, MA. He graduated Mount Hermon School, served two years in the United States Navy, then graduated Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1959, Edward moved to Peterborough, New Hampshire, as President of Electropac, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Computer Control Company in Framingham, MA, where he was vice president of manufacturing). As a private consultant, he was a director of Rokon, Inc. and Chomerics, Inc. He contributed time to several community organizations in Peterborough and Boston. Spending time with his family was his greatest pleasure, and he enjoyed sailing, flying, hunting, fishing, skiing and building radio-controlled model boats and planes. Edward is survived by his loving wife of more than fifty-six years, Ann Hampson of Peterborough; son Jonathan Hampson and his wife Patrice of Peterborough; two grandchildren, Caroline Hampson and Joseph Hampson of Peterborough; brother-in-law Lewis Alessandrini and his wife Elizabeth; a niece and nephew, grand nieces and grand nephews, and many cousins. He is predeceased by his brother Raffi Hampson. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Edward's name to: Peterborough Fire & Rescue Association - Sunshine Fund, 16 Summer St., Peterborough, NH 03458, or Armenia Tree Project, 65 Main St., Watertown, MA 02472. Family and friends are warmly invited to a graveside service on Saturday, April 2, 11:00, at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sand Hill Road, Peterborough, NH. Pastor Lourey Savick will officiate.
