Edward A. Stanley, Jr., 70, of Hancock, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024, after a period of decline with Frontotemporal Dementia. He was born on March 23, 1953, and raised in Concord, MA, the son of Edward and Marion (White) Stanley.
Ed “Ned” attended UMass Amherst where he obtained a BS in Information Systems. He worked 15 years in the industry at companies such as Brookstone in Peterborough and PC Connection in Marlow before starting his own consulting company, Prime Krew Inc. (which he proudly named after his six children.) He finished his career as a Chief Operating Officer at NSA Industries in VT before retiring in 2017.
Ed was active throughout his adult life and participated in many activities such as softball, volleyball, bowling, racquetball, hunting, and shooting. He was happiest when able to spend time at his family camp, towing grandchildren behind his Mastercraft ski boat, throwing frisbees, and playing cards or Rummikub. He enjoyed traveling to warm destinations in the winter, and his grandchildren will always cherish the memories made during his generous annual trips to Club Med in Florida where they learned to fly on the trapeze, attend circus school, and enjoy unlimited food and fun!
Ed loved quietly and often when no one was looking. His kindness and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. His generosity was endless, and he was the first to lend a hand when help was needed. Ed was proudly supportive of his children and grandchildren, attending numerous sporting events, school performances, dance recitals, and graduation ceremonies. Ed was taken too soon by a devastating disease, but was fortunate to be supported by family, friends, and tremendous services within the community at the end of his life.
Ed is survived by his six children and their families: his daughter Patricia Harris and her husband William, his daughter Rebecca Rodenhiser and her husband Keith, his son Matthew Stanley and his wife Jessica, his daughter Kayla Stanley, his daughter Rachael Lashua and her husband Burton, and his son William Stanley and his wife Rachel. He was also a proud, loving Grampa to 14 grandchildren; Jack, Colby, and Collins Harris; Emma and Abby Rodenhiser; Piper and Connor Stanley; Kody Halbedel, Owen and Jase Daley; Samantha, Blake, and Josie Lashua; and Sawyer Stanley. He is also survived by his two sisters, Linda Patterson and Judith Richardson, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward “Mick” and Marion “Marny” (White) Stanley, and his sister Sandra Baxter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday January 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH.
