Peterborough, NH Flora Smith, 93, of Peterborough, died at Monadnock Community Hospital, on April 28, 2014 after a period of failing health. Flora was born in Peterborough on February 28, 1921, the daughter of Alexander Smith and Rose (Barton) Smith. Flora was a lifelong resident of Peterborough. She worked for the American Guernsey Cattle Club in Peterborough for a number of years before beginning her tenure with the First National Bank of Peterborough until she retired. Flora sang in the church choir and was a member of the Monadnock Chorus. She was a devout parishioner of The Union Congregational Church of Peterborough. She enjoyed reading, playing Canasta and liked going to rummage sales. Flora is survived by her nephews; John Smith of Jaffrey, Donald "Jimmy" Smith of Ohio, her niece Flora MacLean of CT, and her niece Lillian Fish, with whom she spent countless precious days during the past several months. She will also be missed by her great nephew Kevin Smith as well as many other great nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday May 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at The Union Congregational Church of Peterborough, 33 Concord Street, Peterborough. Reverend Rhonda MacLeod will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sand Hill Road, Peterborough. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Flora's name to The Union Congregational Church of Peterborough, 33 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.
