Frank M. Almeida died January 18, 2021. The oldest of nine children, he was born on his grandparent’s farm in Allentown PA on February 1, 1926 to Louis Almeida and Goldie (Comp) Almeida. The family later moved to Long Island, New York, where he lived most of his adult life.
He attended Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, N.Y., where he met his wife Marion (Ball). After graduating high school in 1943 he spent some time in Texas working on the “little inch” pipeline outside of Galveston. He returned to New York to enter the Navy, from which he was discharged in 1946. After attending Allentown Business College for two years, he was married on July 10, 1948 in Floral Park NY.
He worked for the Long Island Jewish Medical Center at the Queens Hospital Center Affiliation in Jamaica, New York as Director of Fiscal Affairs. Retiring in 1988, he moved to Dublin, New Hampshire the next year. For the past seven years Frank resided at Summerhill Assisted Living.
Frank Almeida is survived by his daughters Wendy Almeida of New Ipswich NH and April Gregg of Washington NH; son Steven Almeida of Chelmsford, MA; daughter-in-law Jennifer; and two lovely grandchildren, Eleanor and Celeste. His surviving siblings are Dorothy and her husband Gerry Chiariello of Glen Cove NY, Dolores and her husband Frank Sforza of Miami FL, Charles and his wife Linda of Atlantic City FL, and Bruce and his wife Debbie of Rocky Point NY.
