Greenfield, NH Frank H. Shea,65 , of Greenfield, died unexpectedly at UMass Memorial Health Care Center, on September 15, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born in Peterborough on September 12, 1949 the son of Albert Shea and Gladys (Whitney) Shea. Frank was a lifelong resident of Greenfield and he loved the Greenfield community deeply. He was on the board of directors for the Greenfield Historical Society where he undertook many projects to preserve the history of the community he treasured. He served his country in the United States Army and earned the Bronze Star during his two tours in The Vietnam War. Frank was a carpenter and he loved building, especially when he was able to build something new out of something old. He enjoyed baseball and was the baseball coach for Greenfield's Peewee and Little League teams while his son was growing up. He loved watching the Boston Red Sox and he enjoyed trains. Frank was known for being a unique man, a good, kind and helpful neighbor and a dog lover. Above all else, Frank loved his family and was a father to all. Frank is survived by his loving wife of thirty-one years, Sylvia (Huston) Shea of Greenfield and his son Frank Shea of Greenfield. He will also be missed by his sister Virginia Bigham and her husband David of Greenfield, his brothers and sisters in law; David, Anne, Robert and Amy, his nieces and nephews; Michael, Annie, Micah, Emma, Julia and Liam, as well as several great nieces and nephews and his cousins. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 1:00PM at the Greenfield Town Meeting House, Forest Road, Greenfield. The Reverend Dan Osgood will officiate. Burial will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Frank's name to the Greenfield Historical Society, 828 Forest Road Greenfield ,NH 03047.
