Geraldine Ware

August 14, 1926 — October 10, 2018

Geraldine L. Ware, 92 of Hancock, passed away peacefully at Pheasant Wood Center, while surrounded by the love of her family, on October 10, 2018.  She was born in Antrim on August 14, 1926, the daughter of George Edwin Smith and Lizzie May (Wheeler) Smith.

Geraldine (Gerry) loved her native state of New Hampshire.  She grew up in Antrim and originally moved to Peterborough to begin her first job at Peterborough Savings Bank.  She then met the love of her life Ed Ware Sr. from Hancock. They were married and soon built their home in Hancock where she would spend the next 63 years of her life.  Her last thirteen years were spent living in an apartment on Main Street, sitting on the front porch and waiving to all the passersby.  She was sincerely blessed by all the support she received from the people of Hancock.  Gerry loved doing word puzzles, spending time with her family and laughing.

Geraldine is survived by her children;  Ann (Ware) Dickens of Center Sandwich NH, Sandra (Ware) Morrill, and her husband Richard, of Hancock,  Edson C. Ware Jr., and his wife Heather Guinard, of Hancock, Marsha (Ware) White, and her husband Chris, of Milford; and her son-in-law Thomas Weeks of Milford.  Geraldine was blessed with 11 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and many friends and loved ones.

She was predeceased by her husband Edson C. Ware Sr. in 1981 and her daughter Cheryl (Ware) Weeks in 2016.
