Grace F. Rowehl, 72, of Antrim NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Grace was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 17, 1951, the daughter of Alphonse and Lucy (DeMayo) Russo. She grew up on Long Island where she raised her family before starting a career as an office manager at a state-run mental health facility.
Grace became interested in dog agility with her papillons Chopper and Trixie. Together they progressed to competing at Nationals.
She moved to Antrim, NH where she became an entrepreneur. She created Deer Meadow Homestead where she focused on home grown and locally sourced ingredients to make jams, jellies, and granola. Grace was a lifelong crafter. She loved making cross-stitch, embroidery, quilts, and ornaments for her friends and family. She passed on her love of crafts to her children and enjoyed her crafty visits with them.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, Timothy Rowehl, Grace is survived by her mother Lucy Russo; her sister Sandra Mammes; her children Michael Rowehl (Amy Wong), Valerie Link (George Link), Julianne Williams (Josh Williams), and Gloria Verdino (Andrew Verdino); and her grandchildren, Devin Link, Georgie Link, Kaylee Williams, and Ben Williams.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday July 15th, 2023, from 1:00-3:00PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Grace’s name to Granite VNA Hospice House or to the Payson Center for Cancer Care at Concord Hospital .
