On April 25, 2018 Harvey Horton Chandler, 89, of Hillsboro, and previously Peterborough, died peacefully at Hillsboro House, where he had been residing and receiving care for his Parkinson's Disease.
Harvey was born on June 1, 1928 in Concord, NH the son of Horton and Elizabeth (Snow) Chandler. He attended Norwich University and Dartmouth College. After serving in the Army in the Korean War, Harvey, worked for The Public Service Company of New Hampshire, Wayne Green Publishing and Yankee Publishing.
Harvey served as school moderator for ConVal and Hillsborough school districts and hospital trustee at Monadnock Community Hospital. He was active on the zoning board and planning board for the Town of Hillsborough, a member of the choir at Smith Congregational Church and active in the Lions Club. Harvey enjoyed playing tennis and golf, skiing and sailing. He especially liked his monthly lunches with the men of the Round Table.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 62 years, Suzanne-Martha Piper Chandler (Sandy) of Peterborough, three children, Janet Paige and husband, Kevin, of Antrim, Bradlee Chandler and wife, Pamela, of Texas, and Susan Ingalls and husband, Charles, of NC; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary Chandler, of Newbury.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
