Henry H. born, Sr, 88, of Peterborough, died on January 6, 2018 at Pheasant Wood Care Center after a period of failing health. He was born in Toms River, NJ on January 13, 1929, the son of Harry Born and Anna Mae (Armstrong) Born.
Henry moved to the area in 1968 after having lived in Montana and New Jersey for a number of years. He lived first in Peterborough before moving to Harrisville in 1976, but settled back in Peterborough with his daughter, after the death of his beloved wife Lillian to whom he had been married for 63 years.
Henry served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II in the Pacific. He enjoyed a long career at New Hampshire Ball Bearing and spent his later years enjoying his family.
Henry was happiest gardening, deep sea, freshwater and fly fishing.
He is survived by his daughters Kathryn Salamy of Peterborough and Helen Ide of AL; his four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son Henry Born, Jr who died in 2008.
Services will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Henry’s name to The Wounded Warriors Project.
