James Albert Shea, age 80, of Nashua, NH, died Saturday, September 19, at the Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. Jim was born September 17, 1935 in Peterborough, NH, son of George F. Shea, Sr., and Meta (Goodwin) Shea.
Jim grew up in Greenfield, NH. He attended Peterborough High School, Class of 1953. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, class of 1957.
Upon graduating from UNH Jim served 12 years as an Air Force officer. He spent most of his military career as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. As a civilian he worked until his retirement in 1993 for the Department of Defense Investigative Service. Jim was a member of the Nashua Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Assn. and the DAV. He loved steam trains, was an avid sports fan, especially of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team and the Boston Celtics. He enjoyed reading and collecting coins and stamps. Jim was predeceased by his sister Patricia Myhaver. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Nell (Richburg) Shea, a sister Katherine Caron of Concord, NH, a brother George F. Shea, Jr., of Seabrook, TX, a daughter Linda Shea, a son Kevin Shea, three step-sons: James, Richard and Jerry Tillery, five grandchildren and one great grandson. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Greenvale Cemetery, Route 31, Greenfield, NH. Arrangements are in the care of the Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH.
