Jane E (Stevens) Huston

Jane Ellen (Stevens) Huston, 71, of Wilton New Hampshire passed away at her home on Sunday, October 24, 2021 after a brief illness.

Jane was born April 9, 1950 in Peterborough, NH; the daughter of A. Lester Stevens and Pearl (Young) Stevens of Sharon.  She was predeceased by one brother: Lt. Cmdr. Wayne Stevens.

She met her husband Larry Huston III and they were married in 1984.  Larry predeceased Jane on September 27, 1994.

She is survived by a sister- Alberta True, of Hampton, NH; Dennis Stevens, brother, and Donna Peare, sister-in-law, of Jay, ME; Wanda (Stevens) Renner, niece and Boyd Renner, of Virginia Beach, VA;  Rebecca (Stevens) Pilch, niece and Andrei Pilch, of Virginia Beach, VA; Beth True-Gibb, niece, and Peter Gibb, Timothy Gibb, great-nephew, and Heather Gibb, great-niece, all of Fremont, NH; and Jonathan True, nephew, of Hampton, NH.

Jane went to school at the University of Rhode Island and became a dental hygienist, working for different dentist’s office throughout the Monadnock area. She retired in 2009.

Jane was active with the Monadnock Congregational Church and enjoyed bible study programs there. She also enjoyed visiting with her family at various functions, reading, crossword puzzles and photography. She was known to often go swimming (even if it was cold) in Gilmore Pond and hike up the Wapack trail to the top of Temple Mountain where she picked blueberries for pastries that she made.

A visitation will be held on November 6, 2021, from 9:00 - 10:00am, with a service to follow at the Monadnock Congregational Church, 120 Wilton Road, Peterborough, NH. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Peterborough.
