Hancock, NH Janet Kern, 88, of Hancock, died peacefully at home and into the arms of the Lord, while surrounded by her loving family on January 26, 2016. Janet was born in New York City on June 25, 1927 the daughter of Thomas Holmes and Suzanne (Jouard) Holmes. Janet grew up in Stow, OH. She moved to Newtown, PA and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wycombe. There she enjoyed attending the Woman's Bible Study group. Janet was generous, kind and loving. She loved traveling, gardening, reading and spending lots of time with her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She moved to Hancock in 2013 to be with her family. Janet is survived by her husband Arthur Kern of Ohio and her daughters; Elizabeth Belmont Dean of Oakland, OR and Judith Belmont Hertzler and her husband Gary of Hancock, NH. She will be deeply missed by her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Janet was predeceased by her first husband Robert Vincent Belmont and her son Robert Vincent Belmont Jr., as well as her son in law Tony Dean. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Janet's name to First Baptist Church of Wycombe, PO Box 83, Wycombe, PA 18980. Services will be held February 20, 2016 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church of Wycombe, 4174 Township Line Road, Furlong, PA 18925 (use this address in GPS).
