Jason Ennis

d. January 5, 2023

Jason Thomas Ennis, 40 of Bennington, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on January 5, 2023 at his home in Bennington.  He was born in Syracuse, NY on April 5, 1982, the son of Thomas and Patricia (Gebhardt) Ennis.

Jason grew up in Lakeport, NY. He Graduated from Chittenango High School in 2001, where he was a talented member of the basketball team. Growing up in New York, Jason enjoyed boating, fishing, and campfires on the shore of Oneida Lake with his friends and family. Following a life altering brain injury in 2001, Jason moved to New Hampshire for specialized care. There he found a new lease on life. His health improved, he found community with other patients and the many staff that worked with and around him. He was able to spend time in the beautiful mountains doing adapted outdoor sports such as fishing, swimming, skiing and cycling. Jason made many friends and touched the lives of all who met him. He lived to see and celebrate the growth and accomplishments of his two sisters and bond with his 5 year old nephew. Jason loved with his whole heart, a heart that remained strong and radiant until the very end.

In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his sisters Jessica Ennis of Hancock and Cailin Ennis of Los Angeles, CA, his nephew Sidney Trahan and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jason’s services will be announced in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jason’s name to benefit the group home where he lived and was loved.  Checks should be made out to CRJ, and mailed to Attn: J. Ennis Memorial, 67 Old Greenfield Road, Bennington, NH 03442.
