John Stanley Wojtas, 66, of Peterborough, NH passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2022, while doing what he loved to do best, enjoying the great outdoors with his loving wife Nancy by his side.
John was born July 20, 1955 in Methuen, MA to Stanley and Barbara (Hart) Wojtas. He was a graduate of Tenney High School in Methuen and earned his B.A. at Umass Lowell. He spent a large portion of his career as a Safety Manager for Cumberland Farms and was well-respected in his field.
He was a devout Catholic and member of the Salvatorian Cursillo Community at Saint Basil’s Basilica in Methuen, MA. He took great pride working in his beautiful gardens and enjoyed building and woodworking in his shop. He was an avid outdoorsman and counted camping in Maine, hiking in the White Mountains, cross-country skiing and cycling as his favorite pastimes. His doting daughters and grandsons were the absolute pride and joy of his life and he loved spending time with his family.
John is survived by his wife Nancy K. Penniman of Peterborough, NH, his daughters Rosemary Wojtas (Tom), Sarah J. Trombetta (John), Kathryn L. Kish (Peter) and Christan H.B. Wojtas; by his grandsons Jules, James, Ray, Nathan John, and new Baby Trombetta; by his devoted siblings Barbara L., Susan A. and Stanley J. Wojtas; by nephews Stanley and Andrew Wojtas, by Aunt Patricia Wojtas, his daughters' mother Nancy Vasko Wojtas and his many cousins and friends. John also leaves behind his Wife’s family, W. Talbot Penniman and his partner Christine April, and Phillip E. Penniman and his wife Nicole M. Penniman, and their children Rhett T. and Eleanor J. He was predeceased by his beloved Parents, Aunts and Uncles.
There will be visiting hours held for John, Friday, July 15, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, at 42 Main St., Salem, NH 03079. The Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, July 16th at 11 am at Saints Mary and Joseph Parish at 40 Main Street Salem, NH 03079. A private burial will take place at a later date.
