Judith I. Mills, 73, of Hancock, died at her home, while surrounded by the love of her family, on May 10, 2018. She was born in Danvers, MA on April 8, 1945, the daughter of John H. Lang and Thelma (Fosberg) Lang.
Judith was raised in Danvers, MA and attended local schools there. She moved to Wenham, MA and for the next 26 years she and her husband raised their family. In addition to her own children, Judith was a loving foster mother to over 120 children for almost two decades and continued her calling as a social worker with the State of Massachusetts.
In 2000, Judith and her husband moved to Hancock. She was a founding member of the Hancock Red Hatters and an active member of the Antrim Baptist Church. She loved to collect antiques, knitting, quilting and had a special place in her heart for rescue dogs.
In addition to her husband, Roy A. Mills of Hancock, she is survived by her children, Michelle Maihos of Conway, NH, Kristen Charette, and her husband Chet, of Fryeburg, ME, Amy Maihos of Hillsborough, Emily Cullen, and her husband Greg, of Amesbury, MA, Heidi Jordan, and her husband Greg, of Strafford, NH, and Alex Mills, and his wife Katie, of Hancock; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her siblings John Lang of MA and Susan Bresnihan of FL.
A memorial service will be held on June 2, 2018 at 11:00am at the Antrim Baptist Church, 85 Main Street, Antrim, NH. A reception will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judith’s name to the Payson Center for Cancer Care, 250 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.
