As a peace activist, she worked with her husband who was Chairman of Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East for many years. She was a member of the Goethe Society and of the Garden Club, including the Ikenobe- Ikebana Society. She was also a long-time member of the Monadnock Chorus.
