Katharine Gavin Hall Hill, 54, peacefully breathed her last in her long-time family home in Francestown, NH on September 8th, 2021. Katharine, whom many called Kubby, was a cheerful, gregarious, loving woman whose passions included her work as an attorney for many years as an advocate for people who had suffered devastating injury or loss. She loved horses, riding and teaching others to ride. She loved hiking, her family, her life-long friends, and all her animals. She was generous with her kindness, her time and her proclivity to help anybody anytime. It wasn’t unusual for her to show up and put on an elegant dinner party for someone who just needed to smile.
She was predeceased by her parents, Roger Hall, and Frances Fletcher who were longtime residents of Francestown, and survived by her husband Lew Hill, her brother Lyman Hall, her sister Sarah Hall Thomas, and Domino the dog.
A very informal (jeans work) memorial gathering of her loved ones will occur on Saturday, September 18th, at 2:00pm at the Francestown Town Hall on the 1st floor. No food or drinks have been planned, so feel free to bring whatever you need or want with you. Also, bring an instrument, a poem, pictures, or anything that reminds you of Kubby. This time will be just as unusual as our Katharine; a time of people who will love remembering her in our own ways. There is sure to be storytelling, sharing, laughing and mourning, and a time of saying “good bye” and “we love you.”
We apologize for the slight departure from normalcy, and trust you’ll understand. The Town Hall’s address is 2 New Boston Rd, Francestown. If you have questions about this event, call 314-458-1076.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Katharine’s name to an organization that works with alcoholics and addicts.
