Peterborough, NH Kenneth G. Fredericks, 90, of Peterborough, died at Monadnock Community Hospital, on January 30, 2014 after a brief period of failing health. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 26, 1923, the son of George Joseph Fredericks and Gladys (Mackenzie) Fredericks. Ken grew up in Springfield MA. He enjoyed golf, tennis and table tennis where he seldom lost a game. He attended American International College before enlisting in the military at the onset of WWII. After the war, Ken enjoyed a long career in sales on Madison Ave but always longed to live and work in Northern New England. His wish was finally fulfilled when he accepted a National Sales position with Yankee Magazine. He moved to his beloved Peterborough in 1975 and was an active community member until his passing.Ken was an avid reader who enjoyed fishing, photography, cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren. His grandkids were active in sports so his megaphone voice was a sound of summer across the regions ball fields. A master of accents and inflections, his jokes were hilarious but never replicated. He was known for pranks, the phrase "just kidding" peppered many conversations. Best of all, he was a master story-teller, spinning yarns that are passed down through the generations Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Louise Fredericks of Peterborough; Son Ken and wife Wallis, of Scituate Ma; son Rick and wife Allison, of Peterborough; son Scott and wife Shelia, of Hayden ID; and daughter Tracy and husband Robert of Francestown NH. He is also survived by grandchildren Lyndsay, Nolan, Holly, Tyler, Eli, and Talia; and great grand children Wyatt, Maddie, Brayden, Ilexa, and Peyton. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions be made in Kenneth's name to Kitty Rescue and Adoption. PO Box 468, Jaffrey NH 03452.
