Peterborough, NH Lorina Vernovai, 90, of Peterborough, died on May 23, 2015 at Summer Hill Assisted Living in Peterborough, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Island Falls, ME on September 10, 1924, the daughter of Felix Potvin and Marie (Saucier) Potvin. Lorina spent her early childhood years living in Maine and CT. After settling in Oakville, CT, she remained there for more than 50 years with her husband, Michael J. Vernovai, Sr., who died in 2013. Lorina moved to Summer Hill Assisted Living in Peterborough to be closer to her family where she was able to spend more time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she so deeply loved. Her devotion to family made her a very special part of the lives of those she touched. She was adored by all who met her. Lorina enjoyed sewing in her younger years and made beautiful coats, suits and blankets. She loved to sew for her grandchildren. Lorina is survived by her daughters, Elaine J. Pettit and her husband Mark of Newton, MA and Theresa M. "Terri" Coupland of Peterborough; her sister Anita Wrogg and brother Larry Fortin; her grandchildren Eric Pettit, Andy Pettit, Timothy Pettit, Jennifer Ingellis, Michelle Cilley Foisy, and Nicole Swan. She will also be dearly missed by her great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Jack, Lucy, Henry, Max, Jane, Calvin, and her soon-to-be born great grandson; several step children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves the staff at Summer Hill Assisted Living who provided such warm and loving care over the years, for which Lorina's family is forever grateful. She was predeceased by her first husband and father of her children Rene L. Chasse and her great-grand daughter Kayla Cilley. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015 from 11:00 to 12:30 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lorina's memory to The American Heart Association, 2 Wall St # 104, Manchester, NH 03101 or Divine Mercy Parish Building Fund, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough, NH 03458.
