Luana Baldwin, 77, of Jaffrey, passed away peacefully on December 3rd, 2024, at Langdon Place of Keene, after a long mental and physical decline inflicted on her by Alzheimer’s disease. She had been a resident of Langdon’s Memory Care Unit for the last three years. Even after her memory failed her, she kept her pleasant demeanor and humor with those around her. Unfortunately, the disease robbed her of the time she had hoped to spend watching her grandchildren play the sports they love through high school and into college.
She was born in Peterborough on May 2, 1947, the daughter of Perley and Luella (Kinney) Dunbar. Luana and her twin sister Linda were raised in Hancock and graduated Peterborough High School in 1965. They remained best friends throughout her life.
Luana worked in finance and human resources at various businesses, including the Monadnock Worksource, Monadnock Developmental Services, and Kennedy Information. Many years ago, a stray Bichon Frise showed up on her doorstep. She became a dog lover and took in others of the same breed over the years.
In addition to her parents, Luana is predeceased by her husband Cliff Baldwin who passed in 2016 after 23 years of marriage. Luana is survived by daughter Lisa (Davy) Borges and her husband Chris, grandson Justin and granddaughter Sydney, of Sharon NH; her twin sister Linda Kritemeyer and her husband Walt, of Nebo, North Carolina; and her niece Terri Fisher and her husband Terry Nicholson of Narrows, Virginia.
The family would like to thank the staff at Langdon Place of Keene and Compassus Hospice Care. Services for Luana will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Luana please do an act of kindness. Check on an elderly neighbor, spend time with them, bring a meal or words of encouragement to those caring for a parent or spouse.
