Margaret "Peggy" O'Connell

Margaret “Peggy” O’Connell, 66 of New Orleans, LA,  passed away on June 6, 2021 after a long illness.  She was born in La Jolla, CA on June 14, 1954, the daughter of John and Susan (Wurtz) Roper and grew up on Long Island, NY.

Peg lived in the Peterborough, NH area and Cambridge, MA before moving to New Orleans.  There, she worked as a paralegal for many years, and found the place where she was meant to be.

Predeceased by her father, John Roper on May 7, 2018, Peggy is survived by her mother Susan Roper, her sister Cathy Roper (Benjamin Bell), and her nephew Sam Smith, all from Hancock, NH.   She also leaves behind her many French Quarter friends who embraced her and loved her like family.

Her sharp wit, her cutting edge humor and her vibrancy will be so very missed.
