Greenfield, NH Marjorie M. Vanasse, 80, of Greenfield, died peacefully at her home on March 7, 2016. Marjorie was born in Peterborough on November 24, 1935 the daughter of Antoine Barry and Mildred (Dolan) Barry. Marjorie was raised in Peterborough and graduated from Peterborough High School. Not long after marrying her husband Philip Vanasse, they moved to Greenfield where she has lived since 1965. Marjorie was well known and liked by many people in the community. She worked at Millipore Corporation in Jaffrey for over 30 years. Marjorie enjoyed knitting and playing cribbage and was a huge fan of motorcycles. She and her husband drove motorcycles across the country on more than one occasion. While she enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, nothing compared to her love for her extended family. Marjorie is survived by her nieces and nephews; Jon Chickering and his wife Peg of Hooksett, NH, Blaine Chickering and his wife Becky of Bowling Green, KY, Kim Gilman and her husband Bruce of Manchester, David Elberfeld and his wife Jennifer of Dumbarton, Stephen Elberfeld of Boston, MA and Paul Barry of Little Rock, AK . She will also be missed by her brother Maurice Barry of Worcester, MA; 6 great nieces, 2 great nephews, 1 grandnephews and 6 grandnieces. The loves of her life, her two cats Star and Zippy will also miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband Philip in 2008 and her daughter Brenda Grace in 1963. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Marjorie's name to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Greater New Hampshire Chapter, 1 Bedford Farm Drive, Bedford, NH 03110. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday March 10, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough. A prayer service will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the spring in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery in Peterborough.
