Martha E. Clow, 68, of Bennington, passed away on February 2, 2018 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born in Marlborough, MA on May 3, 1949, the daughter of Alfred Brigham, Jr. and Thelma (Weeks) Brigham.
Martha was raised in Marlborough, MA and attended local schools there. While participating in a bus trip to explore Pennsylvania she met her future husband Howard B. Clow, Jr. Together, they moved to Bennington more than 35 years ago to raise their family.
Martha was a lover of the outdoors. On any given day she could be found walking or hiking all around the Monadnock Region. She frequented the Bennington Country Store where she would help with various tasks and visit employees and customers. Martha was a proud and longtime member of Unit 13 American Legion Auxiliary in Greenville. Above all, Martha loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Howard Clow of Bennington; her son Benjamin Clow and his wife Wendy of Boscawen; her daughter Barbara Clow and her significant other Matt Wilcott of Bennington; her grandchildren Elizabeth Clow and Aaron and Gabriella Wilcott; her sister Nancy Brigham and brother Roger Brigham, both of MA; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorial Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday February 11th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. Burial will take place at a later date at the NH Veteran’s Cemetery and will be private for the family.
