Peterborough, NH Mary Teresa Edgett, 93, of Peterborough died on May 20, 2016 at Pheasantwood Center after a period of failing health. Mary was born in Dorchester, MA on February 1, 1923 the daughter of William P. Curley and Nora T. (Teahan) Curley. She was raised in Somerville, MA and attended schools there. She worked as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper for the town of Lexington, MA for many years. She moved to Plymouth, MA where she lived for about 10 years before moving to Peterborough in 1997. Mary was known for her beautiful crocheting and would crochet blankets for veterans and the Children's Hospitals. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Ireland. Mary will be remembered for her very generous spirit and the Irish sparkle in her eye. She was a great friend to all and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Mary is survived by her children, Ann McArdle of Sarasota, FL; Joan McArdle of Nashville, TN; Lynn McArdle of Derry, NH; Mary McArdle of Peterborough, NH, her half-brother, Luke Paul Lally of Osterville, MA, and her grandchildren; Patrick Lichter McArdle of South Berwick, ME and Katherine M. Prater of Nashville, TN; her great-granddaughter Riley Fitch, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Richard J. McArdle in 1963 and her second husband Francis G. Edgett in 1996. She was also predeceased by her son James C. McArdle in 1954. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 12 Church Street, Peterborough, NH. Monsignor Gerald Belanger will be the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions in Mary's name be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank the staff at the Pheasant Wood Center, Peterborough, NH for their professional and caring efforts.
