Michael Kuchinos, Jr.

February 25, 1960 — December 30, 2021

Michael David Kuchinos Jr., “Kuch”, 61, of Antrim passed away on December 30th, 2021.

Michael grew up in Whitehall, PA where he was part of a large, loving extended family. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in electrical engineering. Mike worked for over 35 years as a software engineer and played an integral role in the rise of the internet, wireless networking, and cloud computing. From a young age, he had a passion for dirt bikes and motocross that eventually led to his partnership in Carbon Fiber Works.

Mike played soccer for Penn State, and spent years coaching and refereeing baseball, basketball, and soccer. He shared his love of sports by mentoring players and coaches, initiating the Antrim Select Soccer Program, and coaching many travel teams - all with great joy. While he maintained many fields, his pride was Moosebrook Park in Hancock where, for over 20 years, he could be found mowing, painting lines, moving sprinklers, or cheering on the local team.

Mike was a naturally-gifted musician who shared his love of all genres of music - whether it be with children at the Hancock Town Library, Alzheimer’s patients at the local nursing homes, or sitting by the campfire with friends. He was incredibly proud to be part of the Stonehill Station band.

Mike was known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone without reserve. He was pivotal in the restoration of the historic West Rindge United Methodist Church. Mike’s quiet dedication to helping people resulted in the innovation of unique solutions and numerous patents. Mike loved making people laugh with his impressions and quick sense of humor. His jokes and quick retorts are already greatly missed.

Mike would have modestly called himself a “simple man” who was a devoted friend, husband, and father. He is survived by his wife, Jill, and his children Theresa and Owen; his brother David Kuchinos and his wife Joan; his sister Susan McCann and her husband Tyler, and his many beloved nieces, nephews, and large extended family. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Kuchinos, and his mother, Helen (Panny) Kuchinos.

Calling hours will be Saturday, January 8th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Hancock Vestry at 43 Main St, Hancock, NH. Masks required. The family will hold a Celebration of Life this coming Summer. Please share memories, stories, and videos/photos of Mike with the family at KuchinosFamily@gmail.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Mike's memory to Antrim Recreation Youth Soccer to PO Box 517 Antrim, NH 03440 (or can be dropped off at the Antrim Town Hall).
