Nathan Hayden Grant, son of Lillian Grant and the late C. James Grant of Peterborough, NH, died Sunday, November 12, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, after years of fighting alcohol addiction. Nate can finally find peace for himself after years of struggling to find his way.
Graduate of ConVal High School in 1986, Nate pursued a career in occupational health and safety at Keene State College, graduating in 1994. He worked in that field for many years, from Arizona to Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. The ocean at Hampton, ponds and rivers throughout New Hampshire and Connecticut--whether trout fishing or ice fishing--were the scenes of his adventures. Nate coordinated the Christmas tree toy drive for over 10 years with area businesses to help make a better holiday season for local children in need. His sense of humor was contagious, and his kind heart allowed him to see the best in everyone.
Nathan leaves behind his daughter, Alaina Marie, and her mother, Ann Morano of Coventry, CT. He is survived by his mother, Lillian of Peterborough; his brother, Caleb and his wife Annelise of Newburyport, MA, and their children Cooper and Bowden. His is also survived by his special aunt, Ruth Ring of Peterborough and his special friend Deb Staley also of Peterborough. In addition to his father, he was predeceased his maternal grandparents, Avis and Melvin Bull of Stoddard, and his paternal grandparents, Bert and Marjorie Grant of Peterborough.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 5PM- 7PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough. Burial will take place on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 11AM at St. Peter’s Cemetery, High Street, Peterborough.
