Marlborough, NH Patricia Pratt Lord, 88, of Marlborough, formerly of Peterborough and Meredith, died at her home on July 29, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born in Peterborough on March 10, 1928, the daughter of Ernest J. Pratt and Frances S. (Smith) Pratt. Pat grew up in Jaffrey and attended Jaffrey schools. During World War II she volunteered as a plane spotter on Mt. Monadnock. She worked for the Guernsey Cattle Club for two years before she married the love of her life, Charles A. Lord, in 1950. Pat stayed home to care for her son and husband. She was very passionate about her large, extended family who will remember her for her loving and gracious spirit, as well as her subtle sense of humor. Pat was an avid reader who enjoyed reading all genres of books, with mysteries being her favorite. She was always very interested in being up-to-date on current events and followed the news closely. Pat is survived by her son Don Lord of Keene and his wife Loretta Simonds of Marlborough and her three sisters- in- law, Elsie Pratt, Betty Pratt and Frances Huntley, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews who adored her. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles A. Lord, and her brothers, Phillip, Robert, John, Richard and David Pratt. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Francestown Cemetery #3, Main Street, Francestown. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM at the Federated Church of Marlborough, 16 Pleasant Street, Marlborough. Pastor Robert Vodra will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Pat's name to Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services at PO Box 564, Keene, NH 03431.
