Sharon, NH Paul Ellsworth Hobbs , 81, of Sharon passed away on January 7, 2015 at his home and surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born on August 28, 1933 in Bangor, ME the son of Ellsworth J. Hobbs and Althea F. (Smith) Hobbs. Paul grew up and attended school in Medway, ME and he attended Husson Business College in Bangor, ME. After Paul served a tour in the United States Army, he moved to Lancaster, PA to attend Bowman's Technical School where he studied watch making, hand engraving and small jewelry repairs. This is also where he would marry the love of his life, Marjorie (Boyd) in 1959. Together Paul and Marjorie moved to Brattleboro, VT so that Paul could work for Simon's Jewelers. They later settled in the Peterborough area where Paul managed the Peterborough Simon's Jewelers, which eventually became Hobbs Jewelers. Paul was a gentleman. He enjoyed making people smile and feel special. His laugh could light up a room and he genuinely loved people. He was a dedicated worker and his passion for his work was seen by all. He was enthusiastic about life and having fun. He enjoyed his bowling team, playing billiards and all sports in general, his favorites being the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. He thoroughly enjoyed his antique car collection and spent years traveling the country with his wife. His most fervent passion was his family, and he was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marjorie Hobbs of Sharon and his children; Alison Hobbs-Wozmak of Temple, Jacqueline Hobbs of Sharon, Kristin Franssens and her husband Eric of El Cajon, CA, and Steven Hobbs and his wife Victoria of Harrisville. He will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren; Sybley, Aleia, Daria, Granger and Cambria Wozmak, Jake and Curt Hobbs, Gunnar, Brooke, Isabella and Roman Franssens; Isaac and Gabriel Hobbs. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 10, 2015 at 11:00AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough. Monsignor Gerald Belanger will be the celebrant.
