Priscilla Eldred

Peterborough, NH Priscilla Mason Eldred passed away peacefully on October 5, 2016 in Peterborough, NH. She was born in Malden, MA on March 16, 1923 to Hazel Perkins and Wesley Trow Perkins of Beverly, MA and she grew up there. Edwin C. Eldred Jr. was her loving husband for 74 years. They both graduated from Beverly High School in 1940, and made a home in Danvers, MA, and later in Wenham, MA. In 1984 she and Ed moved to Hancock, NH, where they retired in their beloved log house on Hunts Pond. Priscilla served as head librarian at the Wenham Public Library from 1963 until 1982. She also represented Wenham for six years on the planning committee for North Shore Regional Vocational High School. After retiring to New Hampshire, Priscilla joined the Sharon Arts Center. She was an avid watercolor artist and exhibited often in the area. Priscilla leaves four surviving children: Emily Yeo of Supply, NC; Susan Eldred of Biddeford, ME; Pauline Eldred of Cape Coral, FL; and Stephen Eldred of Newport News, VA. She was predeceased by the late Janet Eldred of Hamden, CT. Her loving family also includes 13 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. A private burial ceremony will take place in Hancock, NH in October.
