Dublin, NH Rev. Dr. Igor Vladimir Bella, died on December 13th, 2015 at his home after a period of failing health. Igor was born on June 20th, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT, the son of Rev. Dr. Julius Igor Constantine Bella and Anna (Antolik) Bella. Igor grew up and attended schools in Bridgeport, CT. He moved to Bratislava, Slovakia before moving to Geneva, Switzerland where he began his academic career while attending the Ecole Internationale and the University of Geneva. Igor went on to seminary at the Hamma Divinity School in Springfield, OH. After graduation, he moved to Strasbourg, France to work on his PhD at the University of Strasbourg. It was there that he met his wife, AmAC.dine Allis. The two were married on September 3rd, 1960 in Cambridge, MA and moved to Toledo, OH where he was ordained as a Lutheran minister. Igor received his Doctorate in the Science of Philosophy in 1966 from the University of Strasbourg. He served several parishes throughout Ohio including Clinton, Martins Ferry, and Deshler. The two retired to the Monadnock area in 1999. Igor was a very passionate reader. He loved music, spending many hours playing the piano by ear, visiting museums, and attending ballet performances. He also loved traveling with his family. Igor is survived by his loving wife AmAC.dine A. Bella of Dublin, NH, his son, Ivan N. Bella of Gaithersburg, MD, and his daughter, Alyssa B. Landahl of Albuquerque, NM. He will also be missed by his grandchildren: Madeline, William, and Sally, and his sister Ellen Masset of Geneva, Switzerland with two nieces, ThAC.rAse-Anne and Nadia. A service celebrating his life will be held at the All Saints Episcopal Church, 51 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH on January 30th , 2016, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Igor's name to the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (lirs.org) located at 700 Light St., Baltimore, MD 21230 (410-230-2700).
