Bennington, NH
Richard Michlik, Sr, 62, of Bennington, died on February 8, 2018 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Manhattan, NY on March 2, 1955, the son of Stephen Michlik, Sr. and Joanne (Gackenback) Michlik. He was predeceased by his son Richard Michlik, Jr., who died in 1978.
He was employed with United States Postal Service for 38 years. 33 of which he was well recognized as the friendly face behind the clerk counter with his cartoon ties and many pictures of his children and grandchildren on the wall. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking in his spare time but most of all, spending time with his four children and many grandchildren. Rich or “scooby” as he was known, had recently retired in July of 2017. Although his retirement was short he was the happiest he had ever been and was finally able to “enjoy himself” as he put it.
He will be missed tremendously by his children: Kathryn Hafford of Bennington and her two sons J.J. and Logan,, Kiersten Michlik-Streeter of Little Falls, MN and her daughters Chevelle, Nevaeh, and Shealyn; Richard Michlik, III, and his wife MaryTheresa and daughter Nora and Grandbaby number 10 due July; of Hooksett and Kasandra Cullinan and her husband William and three sons Wyatt, Colton, and Elias of Temple; ex- wife Laura Michlik and his siblings Stephanie Michlik-Davis of Jacksonville, FL, Stephen Michlik, Jr. of Loxahatchee, FL and Peter Michlik of New Ipswich. He will be dearly missed by his 9 grandchildren, and 10th expected grandchild, whom he cherished, and many extended family members and close friends.
