Robert Eugene Hacker (Beau), 80 of Peterborough, NH died on September 4th, 2016 at Summerhill Assisted Living after a period of failing health surrounded by family and caring attendants. Beau was born in Ashland, KY on October 31, 1935 the son of Brack Hacker and Ella (Brown) Hacker. He served in the Navy and retired in 1974 as a Navy Chief Nuclear Electrician serving on many fast attack and missile firing submarines. He also served for many years on the USS Patrick Henry and the George Washington Carver. After he retired from the Navy, he continued on with Travelers Corp. as an electrician. For many years, he and his wife Dorothy resided in Montville, CT , cherished by many of the neighborhood children. They then retired to Mulberry, Florida and enjoyed their friends and retired life. Beau was an avid golfer. Beau is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Leonhardt) Hacker, his sister Betty McComis and his brother Ronald Hacker. Beau is survived by his brother Gerald Hacker, his wife Diane and family of California, his sister-in-law Margaret Donovan Fritz and her husband Dr. Donald Fritz of Peterborough, NH; his niece Nancy Donovan and family of Deering, NH; Timothy Donovan of Peterborough, NH; Jeremiah Donovan, his wife Marion and family of Scituate, MA along with three generations of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at a later date at St. Anne's cemetery in Cranston, RI. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Beau's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
