Roberta Jane Allen, 59, of Peterborough died on August 27, at Pheasantwood Center in Peterborough after a period of failing health. Roberta was born in Peterborough on September 13, 1957 the daughter of Warren White and Mary Lou (Scott) White.
Roberta was raised and attended schools in Peterborough. After graduating from ConVal, Roberta earned her nursing degree from the St. Joseph Nursing School in Nashua. She was a dedicated and compassionate caregiver who found her calling in helping others. Often working long hours, she practiced nursing at Pheasantwood Center and Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center as well as several other positions in the Monadnock region. She also worked as a dermatology nurse, caring for countless patients over the years.
Roberta loved her children. She was a single mother who raised three sons, and more than anything, she loved her grandchildren.
Roberta enjoyed crafting and making jewelry. A true New Englander, she was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football and hockey. She had an easy way about her that made her a good hand with animals, especially the horses that she loved.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Robert Allen of Peterborough, her three sons; Nathaniel Eaves and his wife Amy of Jaffrey, Jeremy Eaves and his wife Sharon of Dublin, and Michael of Jaffrey, siblings; Steve White of Utah, Jackie Weeks of Peterborough and David White of Peterborough. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren; Cameron, Kyle, Kamryn, Deven, Arianna, Konner and Kortlynn as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visiting Hours will be held on Friday September 8, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Roberta’s name to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org , and/or Pheasant Wood Center, 50 Pheasant Road, Peterborough, NH 03458.
