Ronald J. Koivula

Bennington, NH Ronald J. Koivula,63 , of Bennington, died at his home, on May 21, 2014 after a period of failing health. Ronald was born in Fitchburg, MA on March 21, 1951, The son of John H. Koivula and Gertrude (Sullivan) Koivula. Ronald lived in Mason for a number of years before moving to Greenfield and later to Bennington in 2000 with his family. He was a member of the Hillsborough American Legion Post 59. He enjoyed walking his dog and fishing, but he especially loved working on cars and his 1967 Camaro with his son. Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Hurd) Koivula, to whom he was married for thirty years, and his children, Caleb Koivula of Bennington, Tina Highsmith of Florida, John Koivula of Tennessee and Mica King of Tennessee. He will also be missed by his siblings, Robert Koivula of Georgia, Lillian Martin of Townsend, MA, Ellen Pratt of Rindge, as well as his three grandchildren, his great- grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronald was predeceased by his brothers Paul Koivula, Dennis Koivula and his sister Celia Lorden. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Old Ashby Road, Mason.
