Ronald "Bubba" Russell, 55, of Greenfield, died unexpectedly at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester on October 8, 2014. He was born in Peterborough on September 21, 1959 the son of Clifford Russell and Beulah (Jones) Russell. Ronald grew up in Greenfield and attended schools in Peterborough. He lived in Antrim for a short time before moving back to Greenfield with his wife of more than seventeen years, Joann Russell. He worked as a machinist for New Hampshire Ball Bearings for thirty years where he was known fondly as "Tiny" by his coworkers. Ronald loved the outdoors and was a skilled hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed taking his friends and family ice fishing and taught many of his nephews how to ice fish. He loved NASCAR, The New England Patriots and the Red Sox; he never missed a game. Ronald was a member of the Greenfield Sportsman's Club and the Greenfield Fire Department. Ronald is survived by his loving wife Joann (Hemenway) Russell; his sisters, Kathleen and her husband Glen Courser of Dalton, Diana Rantilla of Peterborough, Deborah Russell of Belmont, Cheryl Paakkonen of Belmont, and his sister-in-law Irene Russell of Pittsburg, NH. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and especially his nephew Raymond Russell with whom he shared a close bond. In addition to his parents, Ronald is predeceased by his brother Clifford "Spuddy" Russell, who died in 2012. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11:00AM at the Greenfield Meeting House, Forest Road, Greenfield, NH. Burial will follow immediately after the service at the Greenvale Cemetery. Reverend Dan Osgood will officiate.
